On October 14th there will be a Solar Eclipse visible across much of the United States. It will travel a path from Oregon through Texas. This eclipse will happen in Virgo. Along with the Sun and the Moon, Mercury will be in Virgo during this eclipse. Mercury is exalted in Virgo and this may help mitigate the negative effects of this eclipse.
An eclipse’s effects last long after the eclipse itself, the most intense effects are felt for a month afterward, and then the effects slowly taper off over six months. After six months another solar eclipse will occur, restarting the cycle. The eclipse indicates the area of life where the results of karma will be manifest over that six-month period.
This eclipse is happening in Virgo with an exalted Mercury. This indicates health, legal issues, and debt will manifest. As Mercury is exalted it may indicate that long standing problems will be overcome in these areas. It is likely that the resolution may come through recognizing some previously unnoticed detail.
At the end of the month Ketu will transit from Libra to Virgo indicating a larger than normal shift in karma associated with this eclipse. As Ketu will be remaining Virgo for a year and on half, it indicates a long-term shift in focus to the areas of life indicated by the sign of Virgo and the house it occupies in your natal chart.
